How to Choose Between Sizes
1. Check the garment’s intended fit
Look for notes like relaxed, true to size, oversized, or form-fitting. If you prefer a closer fit, you may size down. If you like more room, consider sizing up.
2. Compare your measurements to the size chart
If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose based on your preferred fit: Want a tighter or more tailored feel? Choose the smaller size. Want extra comfort or more movement? Choose the larger size.
3. Consider your height and proportions
If you’re taller, broader, curvier, or have a longer torso, the larger size often offers better length and comfort. Petite or narrow frames might feel better in the smaller size.
4. Think about how you’ll wear the item
Layering, activity level, and comfort preferences all matter. Wearing it for active movement? Slightly looser is often better. Wearing it as a base layer? A closer fit can help.
Fabric & Fit Considerations
Stretchy fabrics
spandex, elastane, ribbed knits
These materials offer more give and tend to fit a wider range of body types. You can choose your usual size or size down if you prefer a snug fit.
Structured or non-stretch fabrics
cotton poplin, denim, woven fabrics
These materials have little to no stretch. If you’re between sizes, going up one size often provides more comfort and mobility.
Flowy or relaxed fabrics
rayon, viscose, lightweight blends
These drape softly and naturally fit looser. Choose your true size unless you prefer a more fitted look.
Performance fabrics
moisture-wicking, swim, activewear
Designed for movement and flexibility, these usually fit tighter by design. If you prefer less compression, size up.
