Our Family’s Favorite Fall Traditions 🍂

There’s something about fall that makes everything feel a little slower. Mornings are cozier, sunsets come sooner, and family time somehow feels even more special. For our family, this season is all about traditions, comfort, and creating the kind of memories that inspired Hadley’s Bungalow in the first place.
Even though our hearts will always belong to the beach, we love the shift that comes with cooler weather, when our lightweight pajamas meet fuzzy slippers, and coastal mornings turn into pumpkin-filled afternoons. Here’s a peek into a few of our favorite fall moments we look forward to each year.
1. Saturday Mornings Done Right
Our weekends start slow with coffee brewing, music playing, and everyone in their HB pajamas. We always start the morning with a fresh pot of Kauai coffee (our go-to for cozy weekends). There’s usually someone flipping pancakes, a puppy at our feet, and laughter filling the kitchen. It’s our favorite reminder that comfort doesn’t have to mean quiet, it just means being together.
2. Football & Family Feasts
Being an Auburn family, fall Saturdays are sacred. Whether we’re at the game or watching from home, it’s all about the snacks, the excitement, and the sense of community. Our HB sets have become the unofficial game day uniform — perfect for cheering (and napping) in style.
And no game day is complete without our family’s favorite White Chicken Chili. It’s warm, hearty, and has been a fall Saturday staple for as long as we can remember. 3. Coastal Trips & Long Weekends
As the temperatures begin to drop, we find ourselves packing our duffles and sneaking away for quick family getaways. Whether it’s a beach house with a little more breeze or a cabin with a view, our goal is simple: unplug, unwind, and enjoy time together. 4. Movie Nights In
When the evenings get cooler, there’s nothing better than curling up on the couch together. We grab our blankets, put on our favorite HB pajamas, and pick a family movie everyone can agree on (which usually takes longer than it should!). It’s simple, it’s cozy, and it’s one of our favorite ways to slow down after a busy week.
